The Committee considers all disability matters including monitoring the implementation (by Ireland) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The Committee heard from students availing of the services at the National Learning Network, with each student sharing with members how access to the learning services and supports in Ballyfermot enabled them in pursuing opportunities in their lives to be more independent, as well as providing ways to connect them to the community.

Conference of States Parties to the CRPD | Travel Report
In June 2023, Committee members attended the Conference of State Parties, an annual event organised by the United Nations during which participants discussed the implementation of the UNCRPD under the theme "Harmonizing national policies and strategies with the CRPD: achievements and challenges".
